We had the highest score of
any firm. The award came with a cheque for £1,000 and the trophy shown. The biggest complaint about most firms was the response
to problems after moving in. "As soon as they've got your money they don't
want to know" seems to be an all too common complaint.
The nice thing about the survey was that small firms
and big ones competed equally. So long as they had at least 5 forms minimum returned they were
counted. In fact a very high response was assured by SWEB paying £5 off
your electric bill for every form
returned. The average score achieved by Cumber Homes was the highest of all the firms
surveyed. Beating firms like Wimpey and Barratt was very satisfying.
Unfortunately SWEB have not undertaken another survey
since, we were the last winners of this particular trophy, but you may rest assured that we still treat customers well. The
building team is still managed by the same site agent and the company is run by the same
directors.
We
can't promise to put every fault right instantly but we do give an undertaking that we
will be straightforward and honest if anything is not up to standard after you move
in.
