Members trips often go upriver.   The aim is usually to get to a pub for an evening meal, sometimes we have a barbecue on a beach upriver instead.  This king of members trip takes place perhaps twice each month in the summer.

We may return during the dark, with head torches if we need to advertise our presence to other vessels.  Paddling at night is a real treat - perfect calm still water, hear everything, phosphorescence giving a strange light to each paddle stroke.

Below we are seen camping upriver at Sharpham and visiting the Maltsters at Tuckenhay.

We can't promise you a dolphin on all your paddles but it did happen that one year a dolphin visited the Dart and stayed for a few weeks.  Our time with him remains perhaps the most magical moment in the clubs history. We managed to get just one photo to record that time.  Adam from the Good Intent is in the red kayak. This was his first ever paddle.
