What we
principally do is function as a club for members. We try to
have lots of fun and to get wet in silly but amusing ways.
Occasionally we do something for the environment, like
clean up a beach (see photo above). We also see seals on many of
our paddles. They seem to like us, this video shows how close
they can come:

Most of
our members are adults who live in or near Dartmouth. Joining is not
expensive and once you have joined you can attend our many paddles
throughout the year. These paddles are a mixture of teaching
sessions and fun social paddles. All of our teaching is
safety oriented so you learn how to use a kayak properly.

You
can alternatively join as a full Yacht Club member, which gives you
full access to the bar. Canoe section members joining at the
above rates can use the bar on Fridays. When you rejoin and pay
promptly you get a £5 discount on the above costs.
Lots
of times a year we will paddle up river to a pub for an evening
meal. These are fun social occasions. Most of us paddle
back home again in the dark with torches and stars guiding the way.
